WHO WE ARE

2-1-1 North Texas is an AIRS accredited resource and information hub that connects people with community, health and disaster services through a free, 24/7 stigma-free confidential phone service and searchable online database. 2-1-1 North Texas serves the entire population of the following counties: Archer, Baylor, Clay, Cottle, Foard, Hardeman, Jack, Montague, Wichita, Wilbarger and Young counties.

Every hour of every day, someone in the North Texas area searches for services or help, from substance abuse treatment to care for a child or aging parent, food, housing or financial assistance. With more than 750 health and human service programs, finding help can seem insurmountable. 2-1-1 can help.

By dialing 2-1-1, callers are linked to a live highly-trained Call Specialist who will navigate them through their situations by assessing their needs and then matching them to the best and closest resource in their community. Assistance is free, confidential and offered in more than 150 languages. 2-1-1 North Texas’ highly trained Call Specialists are all Certified Information and Referral Specialists (CIRS) that provide a wide range of immediate resources to local individuals and families.

2-1-1 North Texas is affiliated with 2-1-1 Texas Information and Referral Network (TIRN) and
2-1-1.org.

The 2-1-1 Texas Information and Referral Network is committed to maintaining that 2-1-1 is accessible and available to the entire state population. Texas continues to have 100% coverage of 2-1-1 dialing service. In addition to information about resources in our local area, 2-1-1 TIRN provides information on and access to: a way to apply for benefits, check the current status of your application, or to reapply for benefits. The includes: Medicaid, Medicare, Food Stamps, Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF), Children’s Health Insurance (CHIP), nursing home care, and other services for people who are elderly or that have disabilities.

2-1-1 U.S. is the entity that brings together the rich diversity of the national 2-1-1 movement. The mission of 2-1-1 U.S. is to ensure that 2-1-1 is Excellent, Everywhere, and Always. The rapid growth of 2-1-1 during the first decade of development has transformed access to human services and this achievement needs to be both enhances and sustained.
